The Chief Prosecutor of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office, Milanko Kajganić, along with his advisors, met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Finland to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), His Excellency Kalle Kankaanpaa, Ambassador of Finland in Zagreb (Croatia), whose consular jurisdiction includes the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The meeting was also attended by Mr. Mika Aalto, prosecutor from Finland, who holds the position of international expert within EU4Justice Project. Mr. Alto is in charge of carrying out activities related to strengthening the capacity of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.
At the meeting, they discussed the activities implemented within the EU4Justice Project which are related to strengthening the capacity to fight corruption and organized crime, as well as the activities in which the government of the Republic of Finland can provide additional assistance.
The Chief Prosecutor presented to the visitors the activities and results of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office in the fight against corruption, as well as the efforts to strengthen these capacities. He primarily focused on the efforts of Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption Anti-Corruption Department operating in the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, as well as on the capacities of partner police and security agencies in this area.
Participants agreed that the EU4Justice Project’s anti-corruption education activities will continue in the upcoming period.
