A meeting was held in the Office of the Chief Cantonal Prosecutor Sabina Sarajlija with experts engaged in the EU4Justice-Phase II project “Support of Judicial Professionalism and the Fight against Organized Crime and Corruption in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” implemented with the support of European Union.
The goal of the Project is to harmonize the judicial systems in BiH with European standards by strengthening the independence, effectiveness, responsibility, and efficiency of the judicial system in BiH.
Besides the Chief Prosecutor, international experts Juan Carlos da Silva, judge of the Regional Court in the Basque Country, Javier Parra, General Secretary of the Regional Court in Murcia, Jorghe Obach, judge from Spain and EU4Justice component leader, and Ilarija Bašić, communication officer, took part in the meeting.
The meeting was held to exchange information for better understanding of the state of play concerning regulatory powers of the HJPC and implementation of their instructions by prosecutors+ offices.
International experts supported and praised the efforts made so far to improve the quality of work of the CPO Sarajevo Prosecutor’s Office. Chief Prosecutor expressed her strong determination to contribute in full capacity to the implementation of project activities, all with the aim of strengthening rule of law and improving professional standards of the Prosecutor’s Office.
