Banja Luka, 14 February 2024 – The Working Group for the Security of Judicial Institutions and Judicial Office Holders of the HJPC BiH held the second meeting in Banja Luka to further work on the Justice Security Strategy in Bosnia and Herzegovina. More than 40 court presidents and chief prosecutors coming from the wider area of Banja Luka, Prijedor, Doboj, and Una-Sana Canton participated to this meeting, along with the directors and heads of judicial police in BiH, the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies in BiH, as well as national and international experts. This activity was supported by the EU4Justice Project.
“During our first meeting in Mostar, the Working Group defined all operational objectives. It focused on the first objective, related to the physical and technical security of judges and prosecutors, and developed proposals strategic measures. Our commitment to the creation of a single strategic document for the judiciary in BiH continues, with the aim of enhancing the state of security and protection concerning institutions, personnel, citizens and data,” emphasized Biljana Simeunović, chairperson of the Working Group and member of the HJCP BiH.
Creating the Justice Security Strategy will contribute to aligning the justice system of Bosnia and Herzegovina with European standards.

We are grateful to the court presidents and chief prosecutors for their participation in this workshop in Banja Luka and for expressing their needs and expectations to the Working Group based on the experience from their daily work environment,“ emphasized Isabelle Arnal, Team Leader of EU4Justice Project.
The last meeting of the Working Group will take place in April in Sarajevo.
