A meeting was held in the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina between Chief Prosecutor Milanko Kajganić and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Maria Molina Alvarez Toledo.
The meeting discussed cooperation and implementation of activities between the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the partner institutions of the Kingdom of Spain, with the support of the EU4JUSTICE project.
Considering that the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Kingdom of Spain was signed two months ago in Madrid, which will allow for the improvement of mutual legal assistance and cooperation between these institutions in the fight against organised crime, terrorism, drug trafficking, arms trafficking, human trafficking and smuggling of migrants, cyber-crime, corruption, money laundering and other serious forms of serious crime, which pose a serious threat to the rule of law, the today’s meeting discussed the continuation and planning of joint cooperation activities.
The Memorandum envisages a number of different activities, including mutual visits by experts from individual fields for the purpose of improving knowledge, exchanging experiences and establishing working groups for more efficient cooperation, including the planning of joint strategies, and establishing joint investigative teams and planning joint operations.
The support for these activities is provided within the EU4JUSTICE project, which is operating with the financial support of the EU with the aim of harmonising the judicial system in Bosnia and Herzegovina with European standards in the process of bringing Bosnia and Herzegovina closer to European integrations.
