May 7, 2021 – The new group of eight (8) participants participated in the second and last series of OSINT online workshops.
In total 25 prosecutors and investigators from across Bosnia and Herzegovina attended the specialised online education on Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT).
The use of OSINT methods for investigations can be used without the need for coercive measures right away, contributing to investigative proportionality and subsidiarity. Meanwhile, the amount of information available in open sources that can be used in almost any investigation is important, which would improve the efficiency of investigations and prosecutions of organized crime and corruption.
During the workshop, the participants were presented with additional techniques that are related to Search engines, people search, methodology, public registers, and data quality and geolocation.
Participants will be able to use advanced open-source intelligence software by the end of the workshop, which will be highly helpful in the investigations and cases they are working on.
