Representatives of the Project EU4 Justice have visited the Municipal Court in Tuzla

Representatives of the Project EU4 Justice – Phase II: “Support to Judicial Professionalism and Fight against Organized Crime and Corruption in BiH” have visited the Municipal Court in Tuzla and presented goals and components of the new Project. The meeting was attended by Helena Papa, team leader of the Project EU4 Justice in Bosnia and Herzegovina, judge Jorge Orbach Martinez, team leader of the component 1 Project EU4 Justice – Phase II, Borja Jimenez Munoz, prosecutor, Ph.D. Katica Artuković, president od the Cantonal Court in Široki Brijeg, Lana Šahman, legal advisor at the Project and president of the Municipal Court in Tuzla, Ph.D. Muhamed Tulumović. President of the Municipal court in Tuzla introduced the guests with the results of work in the court for the last ten years, as well as the reorganization of business processes in the court, which has contributed to a significant improvement in efficiency and the achievement of the assigned goals in the work of the court. Support was expressed to the implementation of the Project and the willingness of the Municipal Court in Tuzla to make a significant contribution to the realization of the activity.

The Project EU4 Justice – Phase II: “Support to Judicial Professionalism and Fight against Organized Crime and Corruption in BiH” is the second phase of support for judicial reform in Bosnia and Herzegovina, financed by European Union and implemented by Expertise France in cooperation with the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation and Ibero-American Foundation for Administration and Public Policies. The aim of the project is harmonization of the Bosnia and Herzegovina judicial system with the legal assets of the European Union, by strengthening the rule of law, especially enhancing the independence, effectiveness, accountability and efficiency of the justice sector Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as fight against organized crime and corruption.
