EU4Justice Project organised a specialised series of online event in the first half of June 2021, which were focused on various aspect of assets seizure, trends and practices.
Two sessions were dedicated to members of the respective Agencies from Federation BiH and Republika Srpska, and the Judicial Authority from Brcko District which is dealing with the management of the seized assets. These webinars are part of the capacities building support provided by EU4Justice, as a result, representatives of AGRASC, their French counterpart discussed the issues of property sales after the court decision, or before the trial process starts, identified as key issues for their management.
EU4Jsutice intended to share information about the latest trends in asset seizure, thus a special workshop was organised on the topic of cryptocurrencies. The experts, coming from AGRASC and a specialized unit in cybercrime at the Paris Court described the main cases recently that appeared involving crypto assets, strategies used to solve them and, how to seize crypto assets. Representatives of judiciary and Law Enforcement Agencies, 24 of them, participated in this discussion on how these crypto-assets are diverted by organized crime and what strategies and operational practices have been developed to tackle this threat.
