From 9 to 13 December 2024, a Training of Trainers program was conducted at the premises of the Judicial and Prosecutorial Training Centers of the Federation of BiH and Republika Srpska. The program aimed to equip trainers with the skills needed to deliver initial training for newly appointed judicial office holders. The event was organized by the EU funded EU4 Justice Project in cooperation with the Centers. In addition to the participation of 10 trainers – judges and prosecutors selected by the Centers – as well as representatives of the Centres and relevant departments within the HJPC Secretariat, the training was led by Dr. Otilia Pacurari, EU4 Justice Expert. She was joined by Muhamed Tulumović, President of the Municipal Court in Tuzla, and Miodrag Bajić, Special Prosecutor of the Special Department for Suppression of Corruption, Organized Crime and Other Forms of Economic Crime at the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Republika Srpska.
The selected trainers were introduced to the innovative methodology and content that will be applied when conducting future trainings for newly appointed judicial office holders on topics related to the most important international standards on ethics and integrity within the judiciary of Bosnia and Herzegovina, such as independence and impartiality, as well as ethical challenges in internal and external communication. These trainings are planned to be held in 2025 at six locations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the aim of introducing 150 newly appointed judicial office holders to the aforementioned standards. These events will be organized by the EU4 Justice Project in coordination with the Centers.
