The Chief Prosecutor presented to the Ambassador the work and results of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office, its international cooperation activities, and work on cases against international and cross-border crime, including organized crime and other related crimes. The Ambassador recognized the steps taken so far and encouraged the Chief Prosecutor to continue on this path, emphasizing that the Kingdom of Spain will support the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH in achieving even better results.
At the meeting the parties discussed aligning the judiciary system in BiH with EU standards as well as the signing of a bilateral agreement between the state prosecutor’s offices of Spain and BiH. This agreement would enhance cooperation in the prosecution of organized crime and corruption cases, as well as other cases of cross-border and international crime, and ensure faster and more effective communication between the two prosecutor’s offices.
A number of activities were agreed upon, which can be realized within the EU4JUSTICE project and which will help strengthen the rule of law in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the international cooperation of judicial institutions as part of European integration.
